How will you learn?

Apart from attending sessions once a month, you will have access to a ‘Moodle’ site which has the entire course mapped out for you. You will have access to all of the education resources used throughout the course including presentations, test papers, study guides, the Spotter instruments and a dictionary – all at your disposal. Once you have been given your password, you can access all of this and your classmates contact details via the moodle account 24/7. If you want to take a look at the moodle opening page follow this link; click here. In addition to this you will have on-line access to Mosby’s Textbook of Dental Nursing. By reading and completing the topics following your attendance once a month, this will help you to retain the knowledge you require for the final examination.
You are encouraged to take ownership of your training and must accept that only you can take the examination and pass it for you! Attending this course one a month is no easy option. You have the added challenge of completing the Record of Experience; this record/log is part of the new frame work of the NEBDN and requires all candidates to complete a portfolio of evidence over a period of time. Basically it is a personal record of the practical work you carry out every day in the dental practice. This portfolio must be complete before candidates are able to sit the examination.
The course follows the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses curriculum and will provide you with both the knowledge and skills to enter the National Examination for Dental Nurses. More information.
Your tutor(s) will be available for advice and support on e-mail, mobile and instant messaging when you need it.
