Terms & Conditions
Important: Please read these conditions carefully prior to signing your application form.
1. Definitions
- “The Company” “us”, “we”, “our” means Wessex Dental Training Limited (Company Number 6416561) whose registered office is:-
Crawford House, Hambledon Road, Denmead, Waterlooville, Hampshire, PO7 6NU. - “Agreement” – binding agreement between you and us comprising the order for training.
- “Student” “you” – means the ‘Dental Nurse in Training’ who is studying as part of the training for a job or profession.
- “Mentor” – a senior or experienced person in a company or organization who gives guidance and training in practice to a less experienced colleague.
- “Record of Experience” – The practical work for the qualification is recorded in a pack produced and distributed by NEBDN, called the Record of Experience (RoE).
- “NEBDN” – National Examining Board for Dental Nurses.
- “Website” – http://www.wessexdentaltraining.org
- “Moodle” – The Virtual Learning Environment.
2. Commencement and Duration
- Upon acceptance of the training place offered to you as a student, the training will commence as soon as feasible usually in the January of each year.
- The duration of the course overall is 14 months; made up of 12 months of contact teaching time and attendance and the remaining 2 months for pre-arranged 1-2-1 tutorial support before sitting your examination.
- A list of required information will be submitted by you at the first session the date will be confirmed. This information includes your next of kin details and who to contact in cases of an emergency. This information will remain confidential
All information requested is to be made available to the company so that it may carry out effective audit(s), should that be the requirement. - You will be given a Learning Agreement which is a tripartite agreement. This includes signature of agreement from you the Student, your Mentor and The Company as the education provider. Failure to comply with this agreement is likely to result in the student being asked to leave the course.
3. Our rights and responsibilities
- We agree to carry out and deliver the training within a reasonable time frame provided full cooperation of the student and mentor is made available.
- We reserve the right to modify this agreement; the Terms and Conditions in force at the time an application is confirmed.
- We will keep a record of Terms & Conditions and dates of any changes made and we recommend that you print a copy of the Terms & Conditions by clicking on the link.
- All fees are priced in pounds sterling (£GBP).
- We reserve the right to modify our fee costs at any time but you will be charged the fee rate stated at the time of application and in your offer letter.
- All information given to the company remains confidential and will not be passed onto a 3rd party unless written permission is gained in writing by the principal, or person authorised by the principal, from the company
- It is the company’s right to decide who is put through for the examination based on the attendance records the completion of the Record of Experience and other work completed by the student.
- It is imperative that the Record of Experience is completed in time to apply for the examination. Failure to do this will result in a delay and you may incur further costs for extra tutorial support.
- We will supply any educational materials including online resources and associated handouts.
4. Your rights and responsibilities
- We will ensure that a qualified and GDC registered member of staff is to be made available to mentor the student throughout the training in practice.
- You must attend 80% of this course in order to sit the examination at the aimed time. Failure to do so may affect your examination application and you will incur further costs for extra teaching support.
- Once you have been enrolled onto the course, you will have a username and password and you must regularly log-on to your Moodle pages and meet deadlines as set out at the beginning of the course.
- Failure to log-on to your Moodle page after 40 days will result in you being removed from the course.
- Your username and password is for your use only and must not be divulged to other people.
- Your Moodle account is for your use only. You must allow others to use your account.
- You must have access to your own computer and printer or one that is not reliant on your being at your workplace.
- During the course , every month you will have to complete online assessments similar to test papers. This will enable WDT to track and judge if you are retaining the underpinning knowledge you require to be able to pass the final examination. Each assessment score will be added together and an average score will be generated dependant on your attendance. This is generally done after the November session. You must at this time have an average score of no less that 70%. If you fail to reach this score at this time, you will require an Action Plan which will need to be agreed and signed. Failure to comply with the Action Plan will result in losing your place on the course.
- Should an Action Plan be placed at any time during the course and you fail to adhere to the agreed terms, you will be removed from the course without notice.
- The company ensures that all information shared with the student is correct at time of teaching the programme. However, should that information be altered or interpreted incorrectly, the company accepts no liability.
5. Fees and Payments
- All students are required to pay a non-refundable deposit of £300 in advance of enrolment. Tuition fees for your programme will be stated in your offer letter.
- If you are paying your fees in full and you have received a conditional or unconditional offer for the programme and you have not yet paid your deposit, you will receive a discount of 10%.
- If you are unable to pay your fees by the due date shown in your offer letter, unfortunately you will be excluded from the course and your deposit lost.
- Tuition fees may be paid in instalments strictly by a pre-arranged agreement with the company. This agreement will only be in place if the instalments are paid prior to the commencement of the course. If the agreement is broken or late or non-payments will be subject to the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act and will incur interest at 8% above base rate on the original sum owed per calendar month or part thereof.
- Should you be paying for additional support or the revision support, fees needs to be paid in full before the commencement of the support.
6. Access to the Website & your Moodle account
- We are continually reviewing the information on the Website, so specifications or design changes may be made at any time. We shall endeavour to keep the Website up to date but information given is for your information only and may possibly change without notice.
- We try to ensure that pictures of instruments on the Website are as accurate as possible, but there are technical limitations and slight variations in colour and texture between the pictures and the items themselves must be expected.
- We will endeavour to allow uninterrupted access to the Website, but access may be suspended, restricted or terminated at any time.
7. Intellectual property
- The copyright in the material contained in the Website and Moodle site, together with the website design, text and graphics and their selection and arrangement and all software compilations, underlying source code and software (including applets) belongs to us, our subsidiaries or the providers of such information. All rights are reserved. None of this material may be reproduced or redistributed without our written permission.
- You may retrieve and display the content of the website on a computer screen, store such content in electronic form on disk (but not any server or other storage device connected to a network) or print one copy of such content for your own personal, non-commercial use, provided you keep intact all and any copyright and proprietary notices.
- You may not reproduce, modify, copy or distribute or use for commercial purposes any of the materials or content on the Website without written permission from us (except as set out in previous section).
8. Cancellation
- In addition to any statutory rights you may have to cancel your application, you may cancel your training place by giving notice in writing to the address of our head office. We must receive this notice within 1 month of the due date of the commencement of the course.
- In exceptional circumstances we reserve the right to end any agreement with you and without any notice if you:
- Breach any of the Wessex Dental Training Terms & Conditions.
- Fail to make a payment when a payment is due.
- Fail to provide sufficient information to enable us to verify the validity of any information provided to us.
- Fail to log-onto the Moodle pages after 40 days will result on your being removed from the course.
9. Governing Law
- These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law.
- Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts, to which both parties submit.
